Specjalizacja i zainteresowania badawcze:
Jej badania dotyczą polityki Blikiego Wschodu skupiając się na rentier state - interakcjach klasy średniej jako podmiotu związanego z rozwojem demokratycznym w regionie.
Działalność naukowa:
Mahnaz Zahirinejad, absolwentka Studiów Międzynarodowych na Uniwersytecie Teherańskim. W latach 2006-2010 była studentką studiów doktoranckich na Uniwersytet Jawaharlala Nehru. Tytuł doktora otrzymała na podstawie dysertacji, pt. "Iran`s Energy Policy towards China and India: A Comparative Study". Od 2010 r. współpracuje z Teheran International Studies and Research Institute. W roku akademickim 2011/2012 przebywała na Uniwersytecie Warszawskim w ramach stażu podoktorskiego. W 2012 roku, jako profesor wizytujący, prowadziła na Uniwersytecie Jagiellońskim zajęcia na temat współczesnego Bliskiego Wschodu. Od listopada 2012 r. została zatrudniona jako pracownik naukowy w Instytucie Kultur Śródziemnomorskich i Orientalnych PAN. W roku 2016 prowadził badania w Social Science Center Berlin (WZB).
Jest autorką lub współautorką czterech książek o Bliskim Wschodzie oraz opublikowała na ten temat wiele prac i artykulów.
