Specialization and research interests:

Religious and social issues as well as national identity in modern Turkey; Turkish Islam and its restoration movement, non-Western modernity projects, the culture of Middle Eastern countries.

 

Academic activity:

She is holder of MA degree in history and cultural studies. A graduate of the faculty of Historical and Pedagogical Sciences, Faculty of the University of Wrocław as well as faculty of Political Sciences and International Relations of the Jagiellonian University. Between 2006-20011 a post-graduate student of SNS IFIS PAS. In 2009-2010 student of Political Sciences Faculty at the University of Ankara. Between 2006-2007 a researcher in the Institute of the Eastern Studies, responsible for cooperation with Turkey and countries of the Middle East.

She is engaged in issues connected with the Turkish modernity in the context of the socio-political changes as well as the role and the meaning of Islam in the formation of the Turkish political identity.
She is the secretary of the editorial office of “Hemispheres. Studies on Cultures and Societies” annual.
