Hemispheres. Studies on Cultures and Societies is a scientific journal that has been published since 1984 at the Institute of Mediterranean and Oriental Cultures of the Polish Academy of Sciences - formerly the Department of Non-European Countries of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The yearbook publishes scientific articles, book reviews, and reports from international conferences on cultures, societies, history, and religion in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. The journal is published in English and French and is addressed to specialists, including orientalists, publishing in the field of humanities and social sciences, in particular the discipline of the science of culture and religion.
