It is with great pleasure that the Institute of Mediterranean and Oriental Cultures and the Humanities Department of the University of Trieste invite everyone interested to the conference "Ancient Egypt in context: The role of Egypt and Egyptology in shaping European culture of the 19th and 20th century", which will take place both in presence in Trieste and online via MS Teams on 21 and 22 November.
The conference, co-organized by the Institute and by the Humanities Department of the University of Trieste, focuses on how cultural and political trends influenced the practice of Egyptology or on how political propaganda exploited the image of ancient Egypt and its artefacts.
