Doktor nauk humanistycznych, adiunkt w Instytucie Kultur Śródziemnomorskich i Orientalnych Polskiej Akademii Nauk.
Archeologia Arabii i Lewantu w okresie późnego antyku i wczesnego Islamu (III/IV – IX w.).
Przemiany kulturowe na Bliskim Wschodzie w okresie późnego antyku i wczesnego Islamu, architektura mieszkalna oraz życie codzienne w Arabii i Lewancie w III – IX wieku, infrastruktura handlowa na Półwyspie Arabskim, tradycje antyczne w świecie Islamu, kontakty świata Islamu z innymi obszarami kulturowymi w okresie średniowiecznym i osmańskim, etno-archeologia Arabii i Lewantu, podróżnicy europejscy w Arabii, Lewancie i Afryce Wschodniej, zarządzanie archeologicznym dziedzictwem kulturowym.
