Specialization and research interests:

Archaeozoology, including archaeoichthyology

 

Research interests:
Archaeozoology in the study of settlement sites and cemeteries:
• The Arabian Peninsula from the Bronze Age to the Islamic period,
• The Mediterranean region from the Neolithic to the Islamic period,
• Southwestern Europe in the Greco-Roman period,
• Poland in the Medieval period.

 

Academic activity:

Since 2001, she has been conducting research on animal skeletal remains from archaeological sites, initially only from Polish territory, and since 2008 also from Egypt, Sudan, Kuwait, Cyprus, the Russian Federation, the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. She cooperates with archaeologists, zooarchaeologists, and specialists involved in genetic, isotopic and archaeobotanical research. Since 2015, she has been building up a collection of fish, mammal and bird skeletons, as well as mollusc shells. She teaches students and gives lectures and workshops to popularise science.
